Rising 991 metres above sea level in central Wayanad, Kurumbalakkotta is a monolithic hillock famous for early morning hikes to witness a breathtaking 360-degree sunrise above a sea of swirling white mist.
Trekkers start in pre-dawn twilight (around 5:00 AM) to reach the summit before the sun crests the eastern hills. As dawn breaks, the valleys below are entirely covered in a thick blanket of white clouds, with mountain peaks protruding like green islands.
